Well well well, looks like Queen B did it again! Beyoncé just made history by becoming the first Black woman to top the Billboard country music airplay chart. Y'all heard right - her new single "Texas Hold 'Em" hit number one this week.
She dropped "Texas Hold 'Em" and another song called "16 Carriages" back during Super Bowl weekend last month. "16 Carriages" debuted at number 9 on the same chart. Both tracks are expected to be on Beyoncé's upcoming album she's calling "Act II," due out at the end of this month. That'll be the follow up to last year's critically acclaimed "Renaissance," aka "Act I."
On top of the country chart milestone, Queen B is the only woman ever to simultaneously top both the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. Only a handful of others have pulled that off, like Justin Bieber, Billy Ray Cyrus, and the legendary Ray Charles.
So Beyoncé had this commercial during the Super Bowl, right? And after it aired she announced that she's coming out with a new project called "Act II"! She continues showing the world that her talents have no boundaries. Girl just keeps making history and expanding her art - you gotta respect it!
